An IP Transit service is a form of interconnection service whereby an Internet Service Provider (ISP) purchases up-stream Internet Bandwidth capacity to every publicly reachable location on the internet. This bandwidth allocation is then sold to end-users known as an internet service. The unit price for an IP Transit service varies, but commonly priced based on a megabit per second rate.
