The concrete mast is an eye-catcher in the landscape around Mierlo in North Brabant. The 105-meter-high structure was put into use in August 1957, as one of the five masts that the then minister Cals had built for the national television coverage. However, the tower has only been used for television for a few years. To this day, the radio frequencies are broadcast from here. Cellnex has established its data center in it with the purchase of this mast.
The tower is regularly open to the public from 2008 to 2016. Two residents of Mierlo, Jannet Wiggers and Wilfred Weijers , were the initiators and organizers of the Heppie View Tour. With the Heppie View Tour (opening in different towers), Alticom raised a total of 153,000 euros for the Heppie Foundation (The forgotten child).
