The Tower of Spannenburg, as these telecom & datators are also called, was built in 1972 by order of the then PTT. The tower is 118 meters high in total.

In 2007, Cellnex purchased 24 telecom & data towers in the Netherlands, including this tower, from KPN and established its data centers in it. With only 50 m² of space, this is one of our smaller data centers.

The data centers are generally not open to the public, but the Tower of Spannenburg also participated in Heppie View in 2014. Beautiful video images were made of this by a visitor .

In November 2016, Cellnex entered into a partnership with ViaData Automatisering from Heerenveen and the tower was named: ViaData Tower. The new data center was festively opened on November 4, 2016.
