The data center in De Mortel houses the peregrine falcon. On the website www.beleefdelente.nl you can follow the ups and downs of the peregrine couple who settled there in 2005. A few years ago, Vogelbescherming Nederland installed a webcam that records all events. The look in the nest box is not only fun and interesting to follow. Peregrine falcons also make themselves useful in the towers by scaring pigeons away. They are the favorite food of the birds of prey. Pigeons can cause nuisance in the towers with their stools.
This tower was commissioned in 1989 and was owned by KPN until 2007. Only radio is broadcast from the mast. The concrete construction of 128 meters is very similar to the tower of Ittervoort, but is 10 meters higher.
