This 156-meter-high television tower is located about five kilometers west of the village. You can find a miniature version of this tower in Madurodam, The Hague. The tower was shortened in 2007 after the analogue television signal was removed from the air.

From the tower in Markelo you have a great view of the Salland ridge and you can see Deventer, Zutphen, Almelo and Enschede beautifully! Not for nothing that the Heppie View Tour also visited this mast in 2014.
