The network fabric of InterLAN Internet Exchange (InterLAN-IX) is built on a robust and distributed architecture, enabling efficient peering across Romania and beyond. With multiple Points of Presence (PoPs) located in Bucharest (including NXDATA‑1, NXDATA‑2, Voxility, M247, Teletrans, Radiocom, Ines), as well as regional PoPs in Arad, Cluj‑Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iași, Suceava, Timișoara, and an international presence at Equinix FR5 in Frankfurt, the platform delivers comprehensive geographic coverage.
The backbone spans a multi-site, resilient infrastructure with links ranging from 10 G to 400 G between Bucharest PoPs—highlighted by the implementation of Romania’s first 400 Gbps interlink between NXDATA‑1 and NXDATA‑2.
InterLAN-IX supports high-performance interconnection for over 130 autonomous systems (ASNs), handling daily traffic peaks that regularly reach between 600 and 700 Gbps.
Managed by the non-profit Interlan Association and anchored in Bucharest, the fabric is underpinned by carrier-neutral data center infrastructure and advanced monitoring systems (Nagios, Cacti).
