Part of Gamma Communications PLC, The Loop is the trading name of an extensive fibre network in Manchester. It consists of 82Km of duct and sub-duct containing multiple fibre pairs, wholly owned by Gamma and is part of the original assets acquired from Atlantic Telecom in 2002. Additionally, it comprises of a further 33Km of sub-duct that extends south of Manchester to Airport City.The fibre network lay dormant until its re-launch (as The Loop) in 2012. It spans a wide geographic area of Manchester with a footprint that runs through both urban/residential and commercial areas. The Loop fibre network has well established connections to most of Manchester’s leading datacentres and is supported by our team of over 100 Gamma staff in our Manchester Network Operations Centre.The Loop provides Dark Fibre, Managed Bandwidth, Internet access and the latest IP telephony products. No contention, no sharing, no compromise.With offices in Manchester, London, Glasgow, Newbury, Fareham and Budapest, Gamma has a staff of 559.
