The Ugchelen broadcasting station is a completely steel construction of 142 meters high. These types of towers are called half-timbered towers. This tower was built in 1959 to transmit the TV signals from IJsselstein (Lopik) for Dutch television to Markelo and Zwolle for the TV reception in the east and north of the Netherlands.
This tower was purchased by Cellnex in 2007 with the aim of establishing a data center in it. In addition, the construction is also fully in use as a transmission tower.
