Belnet is the Belgian national research network that provides high-bandwidth Internet connection to Belgian universities, colleges, schools, research centers, and government departments. 

In addition Belnet is also charged with the management and housing of the Belgian Internet exchange node BNIX (the Belgian National Internet eXchange), the FedMAN (Federal Metropolitan Area Network), the network that connects all the federal administrations with one another and with the Internet and the CERT.be, the Belgian Computer Emergency Response Team.
