Located in Turin, TOP-IX (Torino Piemonte Internet eXchange) is a non-profit consortium That counts 80+ members including telcos, ISPs, Content and Application Providers, public institutions and local universities. Set-up in 2002, its aim is to increase to the development of the Internet by managing a Distributed IXP.  furthermore, TOP-IX is fully committed to Promote Innovation in the Internet sector and to foster new business creation by providing, through its Development Program, " unlimited bandwidth ", computing power and a free trial period to internet ventures in the seed phase. 100+ projecs sono stati supported in three years (70+ running).  TOP-IX objectives are integrated with WI-PIE (www.wi-pie.org) program guidelines promoted and supported by the Piedmont Regional Administration for the diffusion of broadband Throughout the Piedmont region
